What is going on here?
While many social media users across Asia have taken to celebrating the assassination of the former PM of Japan, Shinzo Abe, some social media users of Chinese origin were seemingly plotting just moments before the assassination.
“Have successfully got close to current and former Prime Minister of Japan” the post reads. “I will complete the task given o me by the organization,” it says just moments before a homemade firearm shot the PM.
Another user had said it was his task to plot the murder of the former PM of Japan, before asking other users not to report his post to authorities.
