According to data from the CDC, the average number of sexual partners for women has been surging while the average for men has been decreasing.
The data show that in 2002, women reported having at least 3.8 sexual partners per woman. From 2006 to 2010, women reported having 3.9 partners, while from 2011 to 2015 they reported having 4.2 partners each.
Other data show that in 2020, the number of sexual partners per woman surged to 7-10 per woman, while the average number for men has been falling each year.
Another 2018 survey from NectarSleep found women reported having as high as 19 sexual partners on average, while other CDC data show among women ages 20 to 24, around 13% reported having at least 10 partners. Approximately 21% of women aged 25 to 29 reported having 10+ partners according to the same data set.
Following the overturning of Roe v Wade by the Supreme Court of the United States, hundreds of women took to Twitter to vow never to have casual sex again as punishment for the decision.
